Install Acclo IQ — Desktop & Browser Setup

Choose Your Platform

Acclo IQ runs as a native desktop app or as a progressive web app (PWA) in your browser. Both modes provide the same core financial workflows — they differ in how they store data and integrate with your system (desktop uses a database file, your OS keychain, native dialogs, and a built-in updater; the browser version uses browser storage and dialogs and updates like any web app).

macOS

1. Download the .dmg file from the download page
2. Open the .dmg and drag Acclo IQ to your Applications folder
3. Launch Acclo IQ from Applications
4. If prompted about an unidentified developer, right-click > Open

Requirements: macOS 12 (Monterey) or later. Universal binary (Apple Silicon + Intel).

Windows

1. Download the .msi installer from the download page
2. Run the installer and follow the prompts
3. Launch Acclo IQ from the Start menu

Requirements: Windows 10 or later. 64-bit.

Linux

1. Download the .AppImage from the download page
2. Make it executable: chmod +x AccloIQ-*.AppImage
3. Run the AppImage: ./AccloIQ-*.AppImage

A .deb package is also available for Debian/Ubuntu.

Requirements: Ubuntu 20.04+, Fedora 35+, or equivalent.

Browser

The browser version works like the desktop app — your data is stored locally in your browser’s storage, and Acclo IQ runs no server that stores your financial records.

1. Open app.accloiq.com — nothing to download, no account to create
2. If your browser offers an install option, choose it to give Acclo IQ its own app-like window and icon

Installing is optional — if no install option appears, you can keep using Acclo IQ in the regular tab.

Requirements: Any modern browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge).

Not ready to use your own data? Visit try.accloiq.com for an interactive demo with sample data. The demo showcases all features but does not support importing your own data or offline use.

Desktop or Browser — Which Should I Use?

Both modes provide the same core financial workflows, so the choice comes down to how you want to run the app:

• Desktop app — installs like any native application, stores its database as a file on your computer, and uses your operating system’s dialogs and keychain. Best if Acclo IQ is a tool you’ll open regularly and want a Dock/Start-menu icon for.
• Browser (PWA) — nothing to install; your data lives in a local database inside your browser on that device. Best for trying the app immediately, or for machines where you’d rather not install software. If your browser offers an install option, you can also install the PWA for an app-like window.

Whichever you pick, your financial data stays on that device — there’s no account to create, and your financial records are never uploaded unless you enable Cloud Sync. If you later want your data on a second device, use Backup & Restore or Pro Cloud Sync.

Troubleshooting

macOS says the app is from an unidentified developer

Right-click (or Control-click) the app icon and choose Open the first time. macOS then remembers your choice for future launches.

Windows SmartScreen shows a warning

Click More info, then Run anyway. This appears for newly released installers and clears as the app builds reputation.

The Linux AppImage won’t launch

Make sure it’s executable with chmod +x AccloIQ-*.AppImage. On minimal distributions you may also need FUSE installed. A .deb package is available for Debian and Ubuntu if you prefer a standard install.
